Subject: need help in finding breeder!!

dear fellow dog lover.
i have owned a few dogs in my life time and recently lost a great friend . he was a beautiful fawn and white akita. old age got him to soon. after considering buying another akita ,i didn't have the heart to replace him with another akita,( he is irreplaceable)! after some research , i fell for the cane corso. but i have ran into a dillemma, i understand that there is an italian standard and a non italian standard, does this make a great difference in the dog? and how do i go about finding a reputible breeder who can guide me in owning such a handsome breed of dog?
