I didn't see the interview but hopefully they meant "by the grace of God" in a general sense in that all things are given us by God. I would agree that if the football player that scores the TD gives credit to God for that "particular" TD then he must also say that God gave Daryl Stingly, a New England Patriot cornerback in the 70's the paralyzing injury he got from a hit from Oakland Raider Jack Tatum. I think you are saying it doesn't work that way and I would agree BUT I do believe God and Christ are bigger than us all and gives us "free will" to make choices and those varying choices have varying results. Then, one asks, how does that apply to the life and death of those that were on that bridge that day. I have no clue. I would only say that our lives are driven by our choices and those choices are driven by ones values and in a Christian's case his/her faith. Sorry....didn't mean to be so HEAVY this am.
