Sing it, Brother!

Don't forget the much better saving throw system, the kick ass critical system, the improved combat system that goes beyond "I attack him" every round, the detailed and coherent spell system, the balanced classes, the new and improved rogue, the new and actually interesting fighter, the easy attribute system, balanced multiclassing, the excellent interior art and anything else I'm forgetting.

Also, wait till you get the DMG. If they merely spruced up the PHB they totally overhauled the DMG! It's actually usefull now! It is actually a DM GUIDE now rather than a rehashed PHB. It explains the DM's job with crystal clarity, shows him how to run an adventure, how to modify classes, prestige classes, detailed explanations of monster special abilities and how they worked, NPC creation guidlines and tables, a new poison system better than the alphabet one in 2E, a bunch of variant rules for the DM to use as he sees fit, advice on creating adventures, worldbuilding, and maintaining campaigns and a buttload of new and improved magic items. It's just a damn awesome book! Although the art isn't as good as the all Todd Lockwood/Sam Wood art in the PHB it is still generally better than the 2E stuff. Gary Gygax, one of the creators of original D&D, called it a must read for all DM's. I can't wait for the MM!

Of course, don't take my word for it. You should just go out and see for yourselves.

-Resident 3E whore,

Kaan
