Subject: When did Seattle become Bizarro World?

Finally gonna talk about something besides death here... though in the case of the Seattle Seahawks, it's usually been the same thing.

But I have to say I'm impressed by the rare display of competency Seahawks ownership has shown this off-season. I was sure Marshawn Lynch would be gone, signing with another team for twice as much money as Seattle would offer, yet the Seahawks managed to keep a running back in his prime who's finally living up to his potential by dropping the diva attitude that's held him back in the past.

Then they sign Matt Flynn, a QB who can actually *gasp* RUN AN OFFENSE, and without having to write up an insane contract (*cough*Kevin Kolb*cough*). Tavaris Jackson wasn't the complete bust I expected him to be, but there were far too many times when he looked like a deer caught in headlights, even when his O-line was giving him great protection. Flynn won't throw 6 TDs a game or be a top 5 QB, but he's going to be a solid leader on the field.

I was pissed at first that we lost Lofa Tatupu. Early on, he showed an incredible knack for knowing just where the offense was going to put the ball, almost as good as Polamalu or Urlacher. But the truth is, whereas most of the team has actually been improving and gelling under the the Pete Carroll regime, Tatupu has looked lost the last couple of seasons. Maybe it was time to part ways.

God help me, I'm actually looking forward to football in the Pacific Northwest for the first time in years.
