Interesting all this, nosey and annoyed - which you obviously are - but had any of you anonymous (me for the moment included) contributors considered that if any action is taken everyone would have to declare their true identities and crawl out from under their rocks so unless everyone is prepared to be honest and stand by their comments, and prove them beyond doubt, nothing will happen,FACT!
I sit on two charity committees so obviously I am concerned by what nosey has said about being held responsible for any actions of those charities whether I agree or not, even if I am not instrumental in those actions. It has spurred me to take legal advice regarding my position for which I must thank you. I must say I didn't expect that from this blog.
Another comment I must make, if there were legal action where would this leave Kevin West who, as I understand it, originated this blog to air views on the closure and sale of Waterloo Spiritualist Church - the comments have come a long way since then!
Finally I fail to understand the amount of emotional energy expended on this meaningless negativity when there are so many good causes and positive charities crying out for help and people to assist in helping others in a positive way surely it would be better to constructively channel your energies into other areas where they are needed. Several times people have said 'like attracts like' and this explosion of vitriol is simply attracting more and more negative energy.
I have been a Spiritualist for over 40 years and have attended many churches around the country, Daulby included, I first went there in 1973 and have met The Tyrers and Coral (I hope I spelt their names correctly), I remember attending services in the back room. I have only been there a couple of times in the past two years but have to say I found the atmosphere welcoming and the people friendly. I did not receive a message but the medium seemed as competent as any I have witnessed. There also seems to have been a great deal of progress made with volunteers to welcome in the congregation and answer any questions, I was impressed which is why I am so disappointed to see the amount of fury and sickening libel on this site.
I have to agree with Jackie. seemingly the most honest person amongst you because she used her real name, some of you need to examine your situations and 'get a life'. If you feel so strongly come out of the closet, or as I prefer to call it, the cupboard, and announce who you are, if you are being honest, and I doubt some of you are, you have nothing to fear but hiding behind anonymity does nothing to enhance your case.
I have hidden my identity because this is a passing comment and I have nothing to gain by revealing who I am and I doubt I will bother to waste time in revisiting. But please if you must continue with this heed some advice from an old Spiritualist; 'what goes around comes around' and will apply equally to all of you and your libellous activities as well as those you libel. That being the case allow Spirit to get on with it, you are not helping but merely hindering their work and at the same time damaging your own energy. Ask yourself what progress have you made since becoming involved in this vendetta and try to be as impersonal and honest as you can when assessing your answer.
Think about it, let it go, move on, trust in Spirit and offer positive prayers for the church and all those who run it as I will offer positive prayer for you and healing for your hurt.
