Some place was having a clearance sale so I picked up Gran Doll, Birdy the Mighty and Steel Angels Kurumi.

Gran doll sucks. It's one dimensional, and the lead actress is Tomoyo from Cardcaptors, even more high-pitched than ever, so much so that even the hentai bathing scenes were a turn off.

Birdy is mighty cool, tho. I think Emerje suggested it once, which is why i picked it up. Couldn't remember if he liked or hated it, but it's very good stuff. Interesting, well paced, and amusing. Birdy is surprisingly attractive evn tho the promo art doesn't look it. And the ranma sex change element's pretty fun too.

Haven't seen Kurumi yet, but i heard it's slightly better than Handmaid *Yich* May.

In the scene in

What are they doing? dubbing it for kids?

And then of course there's Kitsunes accent. Why

Well, she has an osaka accent (Like Wolfwood, Kerochan and a whole lot of other "cool" characters). I suppose it might be translated as a Southern, western cowboy type accent, if done properly...Suu should have the same accent also, since she learnt how to speak Jap from Kitsune.

Another odd point: the local English version I got for Sean calls her "Foxy" Kitsune. Dumb dumb dumb. Guess they couldn't decide on aproper translation of her nickname. I'd have just left her as Kitsune and shortened it to "kitty".

Eugh, the one thing that turns me off LBG is that STUPID NIN-NIN!!! And unfortunately I have the english dub, which doesn't help coz he sounds like an emasculated Smurf.
