thios sounds like my cat, she is nudging me with her head few times a day. For her it means "Attention! I need your attention right now!" Then I have to pet her or play with her or she won't leave me alone. Maybe it is the same thing for your bunny? I am no bunny expert, just a guess :)
I have read somewhere that you should be able to take a hand of skin on top of their necks, if you can't he is too full (fat). I read that only once and I don't remember on what site, so not sure if it makes sense. maybe somebody experienced could tell you.
