Subject: Litter UNtraining (cross-posted, sorry if repeated)

So Corky and I are having a little problem- since the first 2 days I got her home, she managed to use her litter box exclusively for urinating and almost exclusively for defecating. The past day or so, though, she's going *everywhere* in the cage (and on my fireplace, but I'm not too concerned about that). What bothers me is that she goes in her food dish, on her bedding- EVERYWHERE- as well as in her litter box.

What would cause her to UNtrain herself like this? She was doing so well and I was so proud- and then this! I'm wondering if she's rebelling about something, or if she's mad at me, or if maybe she's stressed. Anyone else ever have this problem? *I'm* stressing about this!

Added info: Corky is roughly 3 mos old, so she's too young to be spayed just yet.

As for marking her territory, that's what she's doing with my fireplace, which is why I'm not so concerned with her leaving droppings there. What concerns me is that she's been urinating in her food dish and on her bedding- not just defecating.

Thanks in advance!
