I was thinking about adopting a rescue bunny, but decided a breeder was my better choice.

Reason # 1: The shelter that had rabbits I was interested in wouldn't adopt out to kids. And my parents strictly believe lying is a horrible thing...so they couldn't just *say* that they'd definetly be doing most of the stuff, since I'll be the prime caregiver.

Reason # 2: I think that for a first time rabbit owner, my best bet would be a breeder where I would have the best chance of NOT getting a "problem rabbit". If I adopt from a shelter, I could end up with a sweet bunny, but one that has lots of problems due to abuse or something.

Reason # 3: I'm probably going to show my bunny, so I want to be positive that I'm getting a pure bun.

Reason # 3: The nearest rescue is about 1hr and 45min away, whereas the breeder is only about half an hour away. Less stress on the bun, and less chance of the stupid van breaking down 'cause it's a piece of crap...Plus both my parents think it's pointless to drive a really long distance just for a pet. Especially a rabbit. (I don't agree with that...but hey, I can't drive yet, so I have to go where they go as far as driving is concerned)

I had another reason...but the neighbor just came to the door, and I totally forgot it...oh well.

I think rescues are great things. No question on that. When I'm older, I'll definetly rescue some buns, but for right now...I think a breeder would be my best bet. 8^)
