Usually IP # only give you the region and sometimes they aren't very useful except for in the case of Granny Mo where they are from a very small town where they are the only ones from there who do pageants. There is another way they work too though. Whenever you log online, you are given the 4 string number. The number stays the same the entire time you are online during that particular session. (With some ISP it is the same number EVERY time you log on, but that is not common). Anyway, people have been busted by being on and going to some boards and posting congratulations to their friends and such and signing their post and then going to another board and bashing someone. All of the posts have the same IP #'s, so even though they didn't sign the bashing posts, they may as well have because the numbers match up. This works the same with some people who try to start fights by talking to themselves on the boards, posts and pretending it is more than one person. Anyway, just wanted to clarify. BTW, indication that someone on your buddy list MIGHT be a closet basher, have you ever noticed when they log on and off CONTINUALLY (I am not talking about getting booted every once in awhile, but doing it every few minutes), most likely they are logging on and off to get a new IP # to bash.
