Subject: Is anyone else wondering about this?

Ok, I know that people will probably bash me for asking this, but does anyone else think it is strange that Denell has entered JP into a pageant just a few days after their house burned down? Now, I have never lost my home to fire, and pray I never do-- but I think that if everything had just burned up I would have a whole list of priorities in my life, and pageants would not be one of them. Maybe I am wrong about this, and going to a pageant after my house burned down would cheer me up, and be a good thing for me and my daughter. But I don't think I would have the composure for a pageant after suffering this terrible tragedy.

When I read about the fire, it horrified me, because that is one of my worst fears (that and tornadoes). There was a post on several boards asking for donations to help the family, and i thought that it was a very worthy cause. I would want someone to help my family if we were in this position. But then I read where JP just competed in a pageant, and I am thinking that if they can do pageants, do they really need donations? It does not seem like it. So, if they are doing this well, I think that we could find better places to donate our money-- charities that are truly in need. Does that make sense? I am not writing this to put Denell down, but if they don't need any help, and it does not look like they do because they are back on the pageant circuit already, then we should be informed of that so we don't start sending out money that could be sent where it is truly needed. Or sending things like clothes and household goods, etc. If those things are not needed, it would be nice to be told to hold off and not send them.
