“Basic Thuganomics” signals the first match of the evening, and the crowd absolutely EXPLOOOODES as the NEW United States Champion appears, John Cena! Cena struts out onto the top of the stage, pumping the “Word Life” sign above his head, and sporting a new customized US championship belt around his waist!









He gives the belt a spin before making his way down, entering the ring and going from side to side, hyping up the crowd up as he pulls a mic out from the back of his pants, addressing the crowd.



“The Champ… is Here! I said… The Champ… is Heeeeere! The CHAMP… is HERE! Seattle… the CHAAAAAMP… is HEEEEEEEEERE! Chain Gang… let me hear you SCREEEEEAM!”


The crowd EXPLODES, chanting “CENA! CENA! CENA! CENA! CENA!”


“Now before I pump up my kicks and show Edge just who t’hell I am, I’ve got a few things on my mind, and the first is a question. Randy Orton is goin’ to Raw? Randy Orton is gonna challenge for the Heavyweight Championship as the number one contender? I don’t know who he thinks he is, but I know, and all of you know, that JOHN CENA is the 2005 Royal Rumble CHAAAAAMP!”


The crowd breaks out into another loud “CENA!” chant.


“But that’s OH’kaaaaaay… because I’ve got my new gold… -He spins the face plate.- … and tonight, after taking Edge to the streets, the GM ain’t gonna have a choice but to name The Doctor as the WORLD Muther Freakin’ Champion!”


Another “CENA!” chant.


“But in all seriousness, whether ya love ‘em or you hate ‘em, Jesse Hart shouldn’t go out like that. You and me ain’t been tight since Calgary, but get well soon Hart… and when you do, I’ll be lookin’ FORWARD to defendin’ MY World Championship anywhere, anmytime.”


With that, Cena hands the mic over and un-straps the championship from around his waist, giving it another spin and holds it up for the crowd. The Smacktron then lights up, and Rue catches up with Edge on his was to the gorilla position.


Rue: Edge, Edge… How do you feel about the possibility of walking out of here tonight with the World Championship?

Edge: How do I feel, Rue? How do you THINK I feel? I was SCREWED out of the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble… I was THIS close to becoming the 2005 Royal Rumble champion and going to WrestleMania… and tonight, the night that I get my rematch for what rightfully belongs to ME… Jesse Hart is making it all about himself! John CENA is making it all about himself! Well what about me? What about Edge? You know what, Rue? I WILL beat Cena tonight, and I WILL be named as the next World Champion because there’s no WAY that Athene could screw me out of being the World Champion once I beat John Cena and once again become the United States Champion.









“Metallingus” blasts over the speakers as Edge appears from the back, shedding his trench coat on his way to the ring, sliding in from under the bottom rope and going right after Cena!


They begin to trade right hands, going shot for shot to the roar from the crowd. Edge begins to take control, working Cena back into the ropes and fires him across, but John comes blasting off the ropes with a flying shoulder block, knocking Edge to his ass! As soon as Edge rebounds to his feet, John is all over him with right hands, working him into the ropes this time. As Edge is dazed, John waves his hand in front of his face before drilling him with a right hand, sending Edge clear over the top rope and to the floor!

The fans are firmly behind the US Champ as he stalks in after Edge, but the challenger comes up in a hurry and runs Cena back first into the ring apron, and then hip tosses him into the ring steps! John’s legs smack against the steps and he lies upside down, with Edge putting the boots to him. Edge pulls the champion to his feet and fires him across, shoulder first right back into the ring steps, flipping them right over!

Edge now rolls in and out of the ring to break up the count before climbing onto the apron, measuring Cena. He waits for him to stand and then comes flying off, going for a spear, but Cena counters it into a belly-to-belly suplex! The crowd pops as Edge is driven onto the floor mats, rolling around in pain and clutching his head.

Both men battle back up to their feet and slide back into the ring. John meets Edge with a knee to the mid section and goes to fire him across, but Edge holds on and pulls Cena towards him, ducking around and grabbing him by the head, jacking him into the mat from behind with the Edge-O-Matic, pulling up on his legs for a one, two, TWO! Cena kicks out!

Edge pulls at his hair, not about to allow Cena to continuously kick out all night long as he did at the Rumble, so he begins to hammer away on him with right hands. He pulls him up and rams him head first into the corner pads, and then stomps away at him. Cena flattens down to his ass as Edge stands over him, pulling at his hair and yelling for Cena to get up! Edge pulls him up and SLAPS him across his face, firing him across. Cena hits the corner and stumbles out, and Edge races off into the ropes, coming off of them and goes for a killer Spear, but Cena steps out of the way and Edge goes directly into the ropes!

As Edge rebounds out, John hoists him onto his shoulders for the FU, but Edge floats over and goes for the Edge-O-Matic! Just like at the Rumble, Cena spins free and goes to hoist Edge up for another FU attempt, but Edge cradles his head and takes him up and over with an Edgecution DDT! The crowd is stunned as Edge pulls up on the leg, counting along with the ref for the one, two, TWO! Cena kicks out AGAIN!

Edge is LIVID, pulling at his hair and SCREAMING that it was a three count! He paces around the ring and kicks the bottom rope, still FUMING! As Cena struggles to pull himself up, Edge gets into a low stance, bouncing on his toes and calling for him to stand. As soon as Cena does, Edge comes roaring in for a Spear, but Cena ducks out of the way and Edge Spears the corner! John now pulls Edge out and goes for a DDT, but Edge spins free and goes for another Edgecution! However, Cena spins free himself and hoists Edge up for an FU, and Edge floats over with a sunset flip, but Cena pulls up on his legs and leans his head against the mat, pinning Edge to the mat for the one, two, THREE!


“Basic Thuganomics” blasts over the speakers as John Cena retains the United States Championship! He rolls to the outside and is handed his title, leaning against the barricade and holding it high above his head as the fans swarm around him.

Back in the ring, Edge sits up in pure shock, pulling at his hair is disbelief as Cena motions around his waist, letting Athene know that he should be the next World Champion!
