“La Résistance” plays over the speakers as Les Séparatistes walk out onto the top of the stage, accompanied by their manager, Marie-Claude. René Duprée walks out in front of the pack, making his way into the ring for his United States Championship first round match-up.








ONE OF A KIND!







The crowd pops as Breaking Point’s “One of a Kind” blasts over the speakers, but even after a few moments, the X-Division Champion has yet to appear. The cameras then head backstage where we catch up with RVD himself as he nears the gorilla position, but is headed off by Evolution member, Adonis Jordan.











Adonis: "I guess you got something to work on, so I'm going to keep this short, and simple. You...have something that belongs to me....right? In a few weeks, I'm going to have something you want....right? So what we have here....is a dilemma. And you know, and I know....that there's only going to be one REAL way to solve it down the line.....*gets right up in Van Dam's face, nose to nose with him* Right?"


After Adonis says his piece and moves out of the way, Van Dam looks back at him and then heads towards the ramp, shrugging it off and makes his way towards ringside, sliding into the ring and thumbs to himself as he’s announced, with the fans singing along.


“ROB… VAN… DAM!”


Rene stands across from RVD, shrugging off his popularity and his X-title and motions to his own physique, and then to RVD’s, making fun of him. They meet in the middle of the ring, and Van Dam thumbs to himself once more, with the crowd chanting along… “R… V… D!” However, Rene quickly jams a thumb into Van Dam’s eyes and goes right to work!

RVD backs into a corner, and Dupree is right on him, drilling him with a few right hands and then a repeated shoulder blocks. Rene now fires him across and comes charging in after him, but he runs right into two boots to the mouth! RVD moves out of the corner as Rene falls back first onto it. Now it’s Van Dam’s turn to his with repeated shoulder blocks, and then he does a back flip and comes on once more, leaping up and takes Dupree out of the corner with a monkey flip!

As Rene lays back first on the mat, RVD races in off the ropes with the Rolling Thunder, hooking the leg for a two count! As soon as Rene kicks out and makes it back to his feet, Rob takes him right back down with a spinning heel kick, followed up by a spinning leg drop for another close fall!

This prompts Grenier to hop onto the apron, but RVD is quick to knock him off of it and back to the floor! Rene now charges in from behind, but Rob side steps him and Dupree goes chest first into the corner! RVD then bodyslams the Frenchman to the mat and springs off the ropes with a split-legged moonsault, getting another two count as Marie-Claude places Rene’s foot on the bottom rope!

Van Dam has had enough and tells Marie-Claude so, warning her to stay back. Once he turns around, Rene is back up with another thumb to the eye and pulls Rob into a knee to the mid section, followed up by a gut wrench suplex! Dupree dives onto RVD, wrapping his hands around his throat and chokes the life out of him! He breaks at the four count, and then does it once more!

The crowd boos loudly as Rene is now in firm control, taking it to RVD. He pulls him up to his feet and then takes him down with a neck breaker, and then covers for another two count. Right back on their feet, Rene begins to hammer away with right hands, and RVD fights back with a thrust kick that Dupree catches. As Rene wags his finger on Van Dam’s face, saying “Non, non, non”, RVD goes for an enzaguri that misses, and then connects on the reverse kick!

Rene hits the mat and rebounds up to his feet, and Van Dam goes to fire him across but has it reversed, and Dupree catches Rob with a HUGE spine buster as he returned! Rene now pops right back up to his feet and does the French shuffle to a round of boos from the crowd! Rene is now all smiles as he pulls Van Dam to his feet by his hair, lifting him onto his shoulders. Grenier hops onto the apron as Marie-Claude distracts the ref, and he calls Dupree over to help him out with the “La fin” finisher!















However, JOHN CENA returns to ringside and pulls Sylvan off of the apron and tosses him head first into the ring post! RVD then squirms free and lands on his feet behind Rene, shoving him forward and into a HUGE steel chain covered right hand to the head!


Dupree goes flying to his back across the ring, and RVD quickly springs up to the top rope, nods to Cena who disappears through the crowd, thumbs to himself, and then comes flying off with the 5 Star Frog Splash for the one, two, THREE!


“One of a Kind” hits the speakers once more as the crowd is electric for RVD’s victory!

Les Séparatistes all join together back in the ring, watching as Van Dam leaves, and then look out to the crowd where John Cena stands among his people, waving his hand in front of his face and throwing the “Word Life” sign above his head!

“Basic Thuganomics” then replaces Van Dam’s theme over the speakers once he disappears to the back, and we then go to an abrupt commercial break just as Cena starts cursing his head off once again!
