I have been guilty of this more than once. Not telling the whole story is another way I use to keep from having a fight with my hubby. It's not a full-fledged lie--just a sin of omission. I think perhaps we just don't want a confrontation which we know we would have if we told the complete truth. There are instances in the Bible where even Jesus was evasive with His disciples. he told them he wasn't going up to Jerusalem with them at that time. They left and He soon left secretly for Jerusalem also. John 7:8-10 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. 9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. 10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
