If I seem slow in posting in the future it is because I have taken on quite a heavy responsibility.

Dale and I have started home schooling the twins. Presently we are devoting about 7 hours a day but hope to cut back as they progress and we settle into a routine.

Their situation in school and their lack of help at home has caused them to fall behind. Dale and I took over helping with their home work last year and this kept them from being held back in the third grade.

We offered to take the responsibility if their Dad and Mom would take care of the enrollment and getting all legal matters taken care of. When faced with the Philistines challenging Israel and Israel not willing to fight the Philistines and their champion David said he would take care of the matter. His words of justification came to me when contemplating and praying about this step we are taking. David said in 1 Sam. 17:29 "Is there not a cause?" In other words "Is it not worth the cost?" We have decided it is worth the cost and will do everything we can to ensure the girls proper education.

I would ask for your prayers as we undertake this daunting task. We will be in it for several years and we are not young. Pray that both out health and determination will be held up by God Almighty who is able to do all things.

I will still post as time permits but for a while it will probably be on weekends.

Thank you in advance.
Hillbilly (Dwight)

If I had children in this day and age I'd not send them to public school and would home school. I'm glad your Son and DIL have agreed to this. With both you and Dale teaching them, it won't be quite as tiring. One of you can take an hour break while the other is teaching. It'll settle into a routine and you'll probably be invigorated by this challenge, not tired.
Please keep us posted. We will miss having you here as much, but with the people we have barely peeking in, weekends will work out just fine. Please keep me posted by email on how it's going if you don't have time to write here, will you?
You and Dale will have my prayers for sure, but I don't think you'll need them. Kudos!

Sounds like a lot of responsibility. Please keep us informed as to how it goes.

see a great change in attitude.
They were intimidated by public school and the teachers were sometimes impatient with them.

They are happier and we can already see improvement in some skills. Math especially.

Their weakest area is in spelling and just the fact that we are patient and go over the words with them several times helps.

Miriam got a hundred on her spelling test and Tirzah got an 84. Tirzah has been failing in spelling and only our work with them both in math brought them up to passing grades last year.

Sounds like they got lost in the shuffle at their school, so this extra attention should do wonders. I'm glad to hear you've seen progress already. I predict it'll get even better in just a few weeks. 8-)
