This past weekend our church has been involved in a program called, "Experiencing God." It has been taught by the pastors and teachers of Churches from Tennessee and Tesas. The Tennessee church is the "Pump Springs Baptist Church." I don't know the name of the one from Texas. One thing that I came away from the teaching with is something which I had learned soon after I was saved back in 1992 and had forgotten. We cannot and should not try to solve all of our problem ourselves. We simply need to lay the problems at the feet of God. We need to let Him solve them. He is both willing and able. We are not able.

We all try to fix things ourselves and many times get caught up in a mess. If only we would remember to always take it to God. How much simpler life would be. Brings to mind a favorite old-time gospel song (What a Friend we have in Jesus):

Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in Prayer

It is a beautiful song. I've sung it many times. Yes, it is very hard to remember to just take it to God in prayer.
