I've always believed that God opens up the Bible gradually over the years to those He has picked to deliver His Word to the people (and you are certainly one of those). I believe that's why the emphasis on prophecy and also the Book of Revelation has only become knowledgeable in recent years. Previous generations didn't have a clue but as He unfolded more and more of His word to succeeding generations I can only say we are blessed to be living "in such a time as this."

will be seen and understood by a backward glance after it happens. I think this is due to the mystery nature of most prophecy. Jesus is a glaring example. The Old Testament described Him and laid out the details of His coming and mission in 39 books. They still missed it and even His Apostles had to look back and remember the things He said in order to realize prophecy had been fulfilled.

The Bible must be revealed by the Spirit of God or it is not going to be grasped in it's deeper aspects. Even at that it will only be grasped piecemeal.

Isaiah wrote it this way: Isaiah 28:9-10 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
