Hope this serves as a warning to all.
And I would appreciate some advice here.

Recently, I've booked a diving trip to redang thru summerstar. Initially, our plan was to go P.Perhentian, Tuna Bay. Trip and accommodation were confirmed and I had made full payment for the tuna bay package. Unforunately, 2 days before the department date, I was informed that there were no more rooms due to "over booking". Prior to my booking with summerstar, I actually called up tuna bay directly to enquire the room availability and was told that all rooms were occupied till end of Aug and of course the date that I wanted was fully booked. So I got summerstar to check again and they actually mananged to secure a room for me. Thou a little skeptical, I still go ahead and make payment since summerstar has honoured their promise.

Unfortunately, I was told that there were no more rooms 2 days before departure date and after all payment was made. I was then offered to change to redang beach resort instead. Since I had bought the coach ticket, I agreed to transfer the package to redang beach resort. I was quoted a cheaper package and hence I had excess deposit with summerstar (as tuna bay package is more expensive).

Before my trip, they promised to deposit the excess deposit back to my SIN account on 1st wk of sept (that was 2wks after my trip). But till now, I am still chasing after them for my deposit. I've got the invoice stating the excess deposit amount.

Can someone advise what can I do to get back my money? Is there any board which I can file my complaint?

I will never engage their service anymore!!!!!!!

You could try the Small Claims Tribunal in your state. I am sure they will be able to help you. You could also try the Malaysian Tourism Board as they usually take these cases seriously. Other than that I am not sure of what else you can do except just continue chasing them. If you still have all the documentation, that will make it easier for you to claim.
