He was sent off for elbowing an opponent, although , in fairness , it was actually more of a hand than an elbow. Right in front of the ref too! They are bleating about him being a marked man and the ref wanting to make a name for himself etc, as usual! But it was a sending off offence no mistake! Scholes was sent off for a ridiculous tackle from behind. It was a straight red, although he had already been booked previously anyway, so would have gone off even with a booking. They are appealing both decisions of course, but if the ref includes the incidents in his report ( why wouldn't he?) then both players face a ban at the start of the season. Sadly your lads got a bad result last night Bren, but I guess all that matters is next week really! Quite right too. Arsenal won well. Have you seen any of the new lads Bren. I like Gonzalez a lot from what I saw last year. Pennant and Bellamy, I think , will be great signings. I think Pennant is probably the best English right sided midfielder at the moment.
