unfortunately i cannot get the actual footage up on my computer =( very sorry! but until you get to see the real thing hopefully from someone else, i typed it out, seen as i had nothing else to do =)
So here it is....
This Morning with Gaynor and Daniel 9/3/06
PHILLIP:
Gaynor faye and partner Daniel whiston skated their way to the top on Saturday night, here is how they did it
(Shows clip of gaynor and Daniels Bolero performance)
GAYNOR AND DANIEL:
(Clapping and smiling)
PHILLIP:
Their here now but just said this is the first time they've seen it
GAYNOR:
Well I’ve watched it
DANIEL:
and studied it critically
GAYNOR:
(Smiles) Yeah and gone...ohh. But Dan hasn't have you.
PHILLIP:
What???
DANIEL:
Well first of all i haven’t had enough time. And second of all i don't want to except that its finished yet i don't think.(gaynor leans her head on Dan’s shoulder saying "awww") As soon as I’ve watched it I’ll see that it's over, so, I’m just not ready yet
PHILLIP:
So, what was Sunday morning like?
(Gaynor and Daniel look at each other and laugh)
GAYNOR:
Foggy, Blurry
DANIEL:
very hung-over
FERN:
yes well Saturday nights Sunday morning really. What happened on Saturday night, after the curtain fell?
GAYNOR:
it was just incredible really
DANIEL:
It was a really emotional time wasn't it?
GAYNOR:
Yeah, we were just clinging onto each other in the dressing room because it was bitter-sweet. It was so brilliant, you know, that we’d come all this way and had the journey and won which was amazing. But then we were like, oh god this is it, for us and for the show.
DANIEL:
We were really sad
GAYNOR:
Yeah bereavement really
DANIEL:
Very bitter sweet. But what an amazing end to the story, I mean we couldn’t believe it.
FERN:
(to gaynor) And now have you been out buying all sorts of pairs of new skinny jeans?
GAYNOR:
(laughs) I couldn’t get into these before but now I can which is great
DANIEL:
(in background) Look at those legs, their fantastic aren’t they
GAYNOR:
But they are very stretchy. I haven’t had time to go out yet. I said to Dan, I said I just cant wait to go out into town and do some shopping.
PHILLIP:
(To Gaynor) Your winning expression was just lovely lets have a look at the moment you won
(shows moment they won on tele)
GAYNOR:
It just went into a blur
DANIEL:
We were saying over breakfast this morning when you said that it was like slow motion, you were going “g-a-y-n-o-r f-a-y-e (said slowly) and everything was slow.
PHILLIP:
I mean as a skater Daniel you’ve done all sorts of shows and all sorts of things, but this does seemed to of had a huge impact.
DANIEL:
It really has been the icing on my cake for my career. First of all to meet Gaynor and to just get that relationship that we had and the journey was just so special. And of course the whole torvill and dean aspect to the show because I mean they are legends to everybody but to a skater their like the David Bechkam of a football fanatic. So it was just an amazing journey for me I just cant believ we won. Im just so, in a dream
PHILLIP:
We’ve got some pictures of the very beginning of your journey actually
(picture comes up with Daniel on an ice rink with three other girls when he was young)
EVERYONE:
Aw ha-ha
DANIEL:
My sisters going to kill me
FERN:
Which ones your sister
(Daniel points out the girl in the pink)
DANIEL:
She’s going to kill me! I was 9 or ten there, one of my first competitions
PHILLIP:
And here’s another one (shows Daniel standing on the number one place on a podium)
DANIEL:
Oh nooo. Look at that. That was the year Jane and Chris won the Olympics so that was my gold medal too.
FERN:
How old were you there?
DANIEL:
Erm eight. (Gaynor strokes Daniels shoulder)
FERN:
We’ve got one more to embarrass you with (shows Daniel and his sister on an ice rink, the year the both won a gold medal for a local competition)
DANIEL:
I am so dead when I get home. My sisters going to kick me head in (he and gaynor laugh)
GAYNOR:
Dan is sooo amazing to watch. Unfortunately we never got to see the pro’s at their best and I just used to sit and watch Dan you know when he was skating around and I had a break, a tea break (laughs)
DANIEL:
Do something for me do something!
GAYNOR:
Yeah (laughs) I just used to say, please show off for me but he was so modest he never did! He’d just (looks at Dan and grins) he’d do something
DANEIL:
No please don’t (gaynor laughs)
GAYNOR:
You’ll take the Mickey out of him
DANIEL:
Leave it love, leave it (they laugh)
FERN:
Blackpool have been right behind you . And you went back up on Sunday didn’t you?
DANIEL:
Yeah I went back straight after the party on Saturday.
FERN:
Another party for you?
DANIEL:
Yeah another party, my mum had done a lovely spread, balloons and streamers and everything it was brilliant. The reception I got from my family and friends was brilliant.
FERN:
You know what Blackpool council want to do?
DANIEL:
What’s that?
FERN:
They want to take you to the town hall and give you a little reception with the mayor.
GAYNOR:
Oooo Dan!!
DANIEL:
No way! Really? (looks at gaynor, they both say “awwwww”) Aw my mum will be like this now (gestures crying holds Gaynors hands and says) “ooo Billy, Billy” (I think that’s the name Dan said!?!?!)
(gaynor laughs)
PHILLIP:
And of course gaynor you had to finish the show and go straight back to work
GAYNOR:
Yeahhh it was straight back on set. It was supposed to be on Sunday afternoon but they moved it to Monday because they must’ve of realised I had, a big night Saturday”
PHILLIP:
And was there that feeling of almost deflation really, going back to the real world, no skating?
GAYNOR:
I’m really missing the skating. But what was o wonderful was that my family were all there on Saturday night and we got to all spend the day together on the Sunday and go for a walk and a swim. And it was just lovely to just be with my mum my sister and my dad
FERN:
And your husband and the children
GAYNOR:
Yeah and Mark. Well….
FERN:
Well not quite your husband
GAYNOR:
No
FERN:
Because you’ve had to postpone that, is it next year?
GAYNOR:
(Laughs) Sometime or other (gaynor and Daniel laugh) yeah so that was really special and to be honest with you I haven’t really come down yet and (looks at Dan) we were just so dying to see it other last night because Dan was going to come down this morning but I was going to him “please come down tonight” so we had a few drinks (leans into Dan’s shoulder they both pull face)
DANIEL:
So we feel a bit groggy this morning. (they laugh)
FERN:
Were going to embarrass you some more
GAYNOR:
Yeaaah go on (laughs)
FERN:
We actually have some footage of you when you were little
DANIEL:
Oh no I’m scared now (gaynor laughs)
(shows footage of Daniel skating onto the rink when he was little to collect a trophy)
DANIEL:
Oohhh nooo, (Gaynor awwws) look at those shoulder pads (gaynor laughs)
FERN:
How old were you there?
DANIEL:
I must’ve been about ten there. Again at my Blackpool home rink, a competition that id won.
FERN:
And Blackpool as well, this summer you will be staring in the big, is it hot ice show?
DANIEL:
Yeah the hot ice show, its there seventieth anniversary this year so it’s a special year for me and to be in that show in my home town its an international show, one of the best ice shows in the world so its special for me to be in it, so yeah we open that from the 7th of April.
GAYNOR:
its just brilliant isn’t it?
DANIEL:
aww thank you
GAYNOR:
I was watching one of the DVDs from last year and I was just like “oohhh” (as in sigh lol)
(they then briefly ask when gaynors drama that she’s filming will be out and she says late summer early autumn)
PHILLIP:
And will you carry on skating?
GAYNOR:
Oh definitely, I love it so much and I’m going to be down in Blackpool and Dan will come up to Leeds.
PHILLIP:
And you guys are going to keep in touch?
DANIEL:
Oh yeah without a doubt
GAYNOR:
Yeah we’ve got to.
DANEIL:
What an amazing experience
FERN:
Well congratulations you two
DANIEL AND GAYNOR:
Thank you very much
FERN:
And its seventh of april?
DANIEL:
Yep come see us
PHILLIP:
We’ll be there
END!
Gosh that took longer than expected, you’ll prob end up seeing the actual footage if someone else can send it, but u can read this in mean time =)
