Subject: We're back from vacation

What a wonderful place St. Augustine is! We just picked it as a vacation spot because we were studying Florida history and it was a fairly nearby place in Florida that we hadn't been before (well, both my husband and I had gone as small kids, but neither of us could remember it).

They have trolleys that take you on guided tours all over the city and take you to all the attractions. It was so peaceful not having to drive and find parking and it was very interesting the information that they shared. It really helped that we had studied the history, because it made everything more interesting. Brittany especially enjoyed that we had studied and did a display with all the flags that have flown over Florida and she enjoyed seeing all the different flags around town. She got a souvenier pirate treasure map with all the locations of shipwrecks marked, and on the way home she was planning how she would show her friends the map and teach them all about Florida history with it.
