Regarding Trisms ... do you think this study is worth it if I was only going to use part of it for a year or so?? I'm thinking that maybe I could use it in this manner - I would let the kids look over the topics and pick the ones that interest them most. That way, the fact that they have to do the same research over and over again won't be such a big deal ... they will be researching what interests them. What do you think about this?

I will take what you say about the level of the Anne study into consideration, but I think I can make it work for us if I delete some things. That's the great thing about a unit study - you can adapt it anyway you want to suit your family. My main consideration for using it then was because it fell in with the chronological time period we would be encountering in 5th grade, but of course, that is years away & I may change my mind and do something different anyway! If Vol. 3 of Patchwork Primers is finished by then, I may do it before the Anne Study.
