Unfortunately I do not think there is going to be any easy alternative routes. There are only 5 major east/west roads on LI. There is the LIE(495) in the center;Sunrise Hwy(rt27) and Montauk Hwy(rt27a)in the south and Middle Country Road(rt25) and North Country Rd.(rt25a). They are all out here and the field day people are sending everyone up Wading River road which is a two lane(one each way) with houses and or woods on either side. That is where I think the holdup is going to come from. I did notice this morning they added a new entrance on the south side of the site so maybe if they put up a few more of these and actually get the people into Enterprise park things will move better. I am not going to field day but I am greatly anticipating Bonnarro and I will we be watching to see what happens. As far as the "Hampton weekend traffic" I do not think you will see that much. I work in the Hamptons and know the traffic patterns and I believe most of the weekend people will head out East earlier, more will use the train or helicopters or not head out at all. The police can be a hassle but I'm not sure who will be watching where. I'm hoping that things go really cool because some of us out here on the island are not what we are made to be and are just regular people. I wish I could have gotten to Bonnaroo TN but at least I'm seeing Neil Young in concert here at the end of June. There will be final decisions this week so lets hope they are good for the people and the concert goes on as scheduled this weekend.
