Ravyn..
's message, "...." on 06:22:21 01/03/03 Fri
The Elf nodded to the man, glad that she could help. Then the tree started to boom and howl, the ground gave a shudder about it, as if it was going to come up from the very Earth. Without pausing, she turned to Ravyn, "It speaks of three people outside of the Old Forest, my forest." She said, whispering. Turning back to the tree, she whispered back to it, knowing, for she was an Elf, and smart enough to know when a human was talking through a tree, and when it was the tree itself. Then, like a ripple, the whisperings spread through all the trees about them, off into a forest on the Shadowed forest's borders. The elven woman talked in treeish, then in elvish, and finally in the common tongue. "Tell Willow to watch," she said, her voice sounding far away, "Tell Oak to watch and wait." The Elf touched the tree's bark, "Tell the Ironhorn, it's time." Then, the forest was silent again, turning back to Ravyn, her face was expressionless. Then replying to Gante's words earlier, "That may be so, but if you can grow a forest that stretches for miles in a second of less, then befriend it so it helps you in your time of need because you are good of heart, then I will be greatly surprised." Which seemed impossible, because, her face was expressing a look of boredom at the moment, but that was just to cover up her worry. Leaning against her new friend tree, the elven woman kept silent. After a few moments, the tree's leaves shuddered slightly. In treeish it said: They will wait. Ironhorn is watching. Adraine seemed to ignore this, her eyes in a dazed look. Suddenly, like a shard of light piercing Ravyn's mind, she directed a thought at him, without even looking at him: "I have kept this power from you, although it wouldn't surprise me if you have this power as well, I found out I had it when I talked to Annie in fox form. But I must move on to more important matters. The Old Forest, I created, I thought it would hold out if any evil entered. While I don't think the Phantoms would enter, that one talking through the tree greatly disturbed me. I'm young, I'm quite young for my kind Ravyn. I only wish to help, for now, it is personal, the Phantoms are a threat to anything good. With a blade shooting from his hand, as my friend, Bark (refering to the tree she was leaning on) told me, one of the Phantoms sliced a tree in half, and I fear that he could do the same to me and anyone else here. I have one weakness that I should tell you.....I can not protect myself with magic, I have grown a forest around me before to protect myself from a sorceress, but she was not as powerful as these are. One is considered a weakling among them, she quakes in fear at the thought of you. They talked of how hard it would be to defeat you this time, but one, the leader I supposs as the trees told me, said that you would be hard but not impossible. Ravyn, I want to try to help you, while I probably won't be much good as a body guard, I can hear movement from miles off, and see twice that far. And I'm quite handy with a bow. But these tidings disturb me. And I don't think Bark liked being talked through either." With that thought said to him privately, the elven woman sat down on the ground, wrapping her cloak about herself.
