a lid
fell across my eyes
total darkness befell
leaving me
searching...
searching for the light
which has eluded me
a new morn
was at my fingertips
waiting do be seen
and yet,
it was not to be
for darkness has fallen
and enveloped me.
i am not to run
i am not to fight
adaptation was the word
i was to learn
life became a chore
i wanted out.
but it was not to be
so here i stayed
waiting
for the end of days.
