Two Reasons I Cry
Chapter 2

Me’shelle finally reached her house and pulled into the garage, she let Dom out, and grabbed the bags and opened the door, as they got into the house, she walked in only to find someone sitting on her couch, eating chips and watching tv

“What are you doing here,” Me’shelle said putting the bags down on the loveseat, “And how did you get in?”
“I can’t come and visit my ex and son, when I want?” Jason said gulping down some soda, “ and you left the extra key under the welcome mat, so I came in,”
“You know what? If you wanted to see Dom, all you had to do was call me ahead of time and let me know so we could set up something, you don’t need to be coming up in here all unanounced and…” Me’shelle said as Jason cut her off
“So, I have to make an appointment to see my son, now, since when have you been all organized?” Jason said getting off the couch and following Me’shelle to the kitchen
“Since I realized that depending on and counting on you wasn’t gonna get me anywhere, you were supposed to pick up Dom last weekend, what happened, you got amnesia?” Me’shelle said getting angry
“You know what, I don’t need this! I’m here this weekend and I wanna take my son out, and I don’t feel that I have to consult with you before I do, where is Dom anyway?”
“He’s getting ready for practice, did you forget he was on the lil’ league basketball team, he’s the starting point guard, and he will not be able to go out with you today, I’m sorry, Jason, but maybe this’ll teach you to pick up a phone and call the next time you wanna take our son out,” Me’shelle said bluntly, “Now if there’s nothing else, I’m on my way out the door, so…” she said hinting to him to get out
“Aight, fine then I’ll leave, but I’ll be back,” Jason said turning towards the door, to leave as Me’shelle followed him to make sure he was leaving
“Ok, whatever you say, Jason, I’ll be waiting, not really,” Me’shelle said and just as Jason was almost out the door, he turned around and kissed her, and this was not a we-used-to-be-lovers-but-not-anymore-but-we-have-a-child-together type kiss, this was more like a I-miss-what-I-had-and-I-wanna-try-again type kiss. Disgusted by what, had just happened, Me’shelle pulled back and just looked at Jason,
“I can’t believe you just did that, you act like nothing has happened between us, like everything’s gravy, but it’s not, and don’t you ever put your lips on me again, unless you’re ready for the consequences, you hear me?” Me’shelle said, as she pushed Jason out of the house
“Ok, whatever, M&M (his nickname for her), you know you liked it,” and with that, he walked to his Cadillac Catera, got in and sped off. Me’shelle went upstairs to help Dom put on his practice clothes and she picked up her best friend Jarday, who was supposed to go to lunch with her, while Dom was at practice.

~~~At the gym~~~
Dom is practicing with the other little boys, while Jarday is sitting on the bleachers with Me’shelle, they just finished having lunch, and have come back to the gym. she is telling her what happened with Jason earlier
“And he was just chillin on the couch, eating chips, and watching Poetic Justice on DVD, like he lived there or something. Then he went on and on, about how he wanted to see Dom and how he shouldn’t have to make an appointment with me when he wants to see him. And when I was about to throw him out, he pulls me into a kiss, and it wasn’t one of those for the sake of the child type kisses, it was one of those back in high school type kisses. Girl, I almost threw up, he makes me so sick!” Me’shelle explained to Jarday who was listening but at the same time looking at some guy who was on the court with the kids
“Well, girl, I think that you should just get a restraining order against him, I mean the man, was in your house and you didn’t even know. I mean, and since when does he want to see Dom, anyway?” Jarday said as she got up to go get some water and Me’shelle followed her,
“I know, that’s why it’s so fishy to me, I mean one minute he’ll be so distant, and the next, he’ll wanna play house again, I don’t wanna get twisted back up with him again,” Me’shelle said as they reached the counter to get water, as she notices a familiar figure in front of him
“I know what you mean, that’s why I don’t have a man in my life right now, they’re so…so…” Jarday explained trying to find the right word
“Evil? Confused? Stupid? Ignorant?” Me’shelle said as she looked down at the floor, just then the figure turned around
“Not all men are like that, especially not me,” he said as he opened his water bottle and took a sip
“Oh, it’s you. you like Visa, boy, everywhere I wanna be,” Me’shelle said as she grabbed her water and opened it
“Well, dang, I mean if you want me to leave, I can…” Omari said as he began to walk away
“No, no I didn’t mean it like that, you can stay,” Me’shelle said as she grabbed his arm and made him walk back to the courts with her and Jarday
“So whatchall doing here, I know you ain’t working out,” Omari said as they walked back to the courts
“What we can’t work out? Naw, but foreal, I’m here with Dom, he’s practicing basketball, you know my baby’s starting point guard,” She said sounding all proud, “Oh, Omari this is my best friend Jarday, Jarday, meet Omari,” Me’shelle said introducing them
“Nice to meet you, Jarday” Omari siad shaking her hand, by now they had reached the gym
“You too, Omari,” Jarday said as she gave Me’shelle a look of approval
“So, what are you doing here?” Me’shelle asked him
“Oh, I’m just here with one of my boys, he’s a coach,” Omari said as they sat down on the bleachers
“Really? Which team?” Me’shelle asked
“The lil’ Lakers, oh, there he go right there,” he said as the guy came over to them
“What up, O?” he said as they did their lil’ handshake thing
“What up, J? Oh, my bad, Rell, this is, Me’shelle and her best friend, Jarday. Me’shelle, Jarday, meet Jarell, my cousin, and one of my best friends,” Omari said introducing them
“Nice to meet you, especially you,” Jarell said to Jarday, as they scooted on over to the other side of the bleachers, leaving Me’shelle and Omari alone
“So, Dominic plays for the lil’ Lakers?” Omari asked her gazing into her pretty hazel eyes
“Yea, that’s him right there, he gon’ be the next Kobe Bryant, he’s the youngest boy on the team,” Me’shelle said proud of her son
“And Rell is the coach, so I guess, I’ll be seeing a lot more of you,” Omari said scooting closer to Me’shelle
“Yea, I guess you will,” Me’shelle said as she looked into his big brown eyes
“That’s it for today, guys! I’ll see you here at 11:00 on Saturday for the game,” Jarell said while blowing his whistle and getting all the boys into a huddle, “What team is the very best,” he asked
“L-A-K-E-R-S!” the boys spelled out, as they broke away and Dom ran to his mom
“Did you see that mom, I shot 4 3’s I’ma be as big as Shaq,” he said to Me’shelle and then he noticed Omari, “Oh, hi Oma- I mean, Mr. Omari,” Dom said catching himself
“I saw that, good job, honey, go get your bag, so we can get ready to go,” she said as he walked away and turned to Omari
“So, maybe you know if you’re not too busy, we could get together sometime, and go out to dinner or to a movie, or something,” Omari said while walking towards the exit of the gym
“Okay, here’s my number why don’t you call me sometime, so we can set something up,” she said as Omari took the piece of paper and Dom popped up outta nowhere
“Aight, I’ll do that, I’ll see you later, Me’shelle, later, Dom,” he said as he walked away
“Bye,” she said dreamily, then popping back to reality “Dom, go get your Auntie Dae (Jarday)”
This chapter is a lil lame, but I’m suffering from a severe case of writer’s block, so we’ll see what happens
