When Druex and Natalia walked into the high school on Monday, holding hands, everybody stared at them. Girls looked at Natalia with envy while boys looked at Druex with admiration. People knew it was just a matter of time before he would get with Natalia. Even Omari, Jarell, and Mario. So you can understand why they was pissed off when they saw Druex kiss Natalia on the cheek. You see they know all about the bet with Darnell, Porky, and Velle but they ain’t tell nobody you know like Natalia because they thought Druex would before things went to far. But they obviously were wrong. So they had to put a stop to this lie.
“Fizz man wait up!” Omari called after his friend.
Druex turned around and smiled. “Did you see that shit man? That girl is all over me. It’s just a matter of time before I get the panties.”
“Druex you have to stop man. This is just wrong dawg.”
Druex looked at his friend funnily before he started to walk again. “Come on now O. Now Mari and Rell I can expect this from. But you? We the playas nigga. You should know that we don’t care about what’s wrong or right.”
“Now I ain’t gon lie man. At one time I was like that. You know we used to game these bitches then drop them like that but now something has changed in me.”
“Like what?”
“Like me losing Pamala. After she walked out my life, man I figured out that I loved her and only her. So I went to Felicia and broke up with her, went over Pam’s house thinking she was gon take me back now that I made a choice. But guess what? She didn’t take me back. She just turned me away because she doesn’t trust me anymore. So now here I am, miserable without the girl that I love because of my playa ways.”
“Just take it from us Fizz,” Jarell began, “just break the bet off because trust me when Natalia finds out, which she will, she gon hate you. And maybe she’ll forgive you and maybe she’ll won’t but do you really want to take that risk do you?”
Druex waved his hand. “Man shit. I ain’t gon get emotionally involved with Talia like you did with Pamala Omari so don’t worry. And Rell trust she ain’t gon find out. So just chill aight? I’ll see y’all later.” Druex walked off leaving his friends shaking their heads at their proud, stubborn, friend.

Kamehsa and Natalia walked into the girls bathroom 10 minutes before the bell was scheduled to ring. It was like sort of a tradition. Shante’s crew would meet in the bathroom to gossip, eat junk food, and do each other’s hair if it was fucked up. The time usually had a happy mood but when Kamesha and Natalia saw their friends long faces they sighed. “What happened?”
Morgan jumped up from her seat on the edge of the sink. “Last night Rell told me that he wasn’t in love with me like we all thought he was. So I just told him it was over and walked out.”
“Omari came over last night telling me he broke up with Licia and that he wanted me and he loved me. I was almost gon believe him but then I remembered how much a playa he was so I told his ass to step. But when I was trying to sleep, I kept on tossing and turning thinking well maybe he was telling the truth. Shit I’m confused. I know I still love him but I don’t know whether I want to be with him or not.”
“Hold up. What about you and Rome?”
“We’re just friends. Ain’t nothing goin on there. So maybe you can make something happen girl. He is feelin’ you and trust me he wants to hook up.”
Kamesha started to smile as she thought about what Jerome had said the previous night. She wasn’t gon tell them what happened becuz she didn’t want to jinx it. So she just decided to give her friends advice. “Morgan just talk to Rell. You were upset last night so ya said the first thing that came to yo mind. But I know you ain’t mean it. So y’all really need to talk. And Pamala if you really do love O just give him the benefit of the doubt and tell him that you want to get back together but you want to take things slow aight? Come on now. This is a time for happiness. This is our last year and we should make the most of it, naw mean?”
Pamala nodded. ‘Yeah I know. Well we better get to class.”
“Unt huh,” Shante said after she came out the bathroom stall. “We can’t let y’all out in public looking liking crackheads. So come on. Let me fix ya up.”
Natalia sat back and watched her new friends with a smile on her face. Finally she found people that she could bond with and that would understand her for her.

Druex walked out the boys’ bathroom and came face to face with Darnell. “Wot up Fizz. Word ‘round school is you and Talia go together.”
“Yeah. And?”
“And I just wonder what she gon say when she finds about the bet ya know.”
“She ain’t gon find out shit nigga because you ain’t gon tell her because if you do, I’ll kill you,” Druex threatened before walking off.
Darnell stood there snickering. He had to put a stop to Druex’s arrogance. And he knew just what to do.

After her 3rd period, Natalia caught Druex by his locker. It was no hidden fact that he was pissed at something she just wanted to know what was up. “Hey, where you goin?” she asked when she saw him grab his hat.
“I’m ditching and goin home.”
Now I really don’t know what was goin on in Natalia’s mind but when she heard that Druex was goin home, she blurted out the first thing that came to mind, “Can I go with you?”
Druex smiled to himself. ‘Yes. Here it goes.’ “Yeah if you want to.”
Without giving it a second thought, Natalia walked out the back door with Druex with a smile on her face. But if she only knew. Her world was about to blow up in her face.
