oooh oooh oooh, i know, i know. i had the same problem. exactly, you have to shut the doors to hear it. but mine happend when it was under a load. buy anyways, make sure they ride with you and you show them the noise. i showed somebody the noise and we got into a big fight. long story that everybody has already heard. then i took it to another place and they said it was good, then i figured it out. here's the deal, i bet you the service the carberator and charge you 80 bucks for it and tell you all is good. but thats just a temp fix. DONT LET THEM DO THAT!, when they finally fixed mine, it was the EGR Feed line was messed up. it runs right up next to the fire wall, thats why you got to be in the truck to hear it. it kind of sounds like detonation but it isnt. anyways, i have to go the dealer as well. good luck - hobie
