Waiting until all have landed safely...more or less...the pair finally begin the lesson.

Pointing to a stack of non-descript bundles, Raja directs "You will all want to grab three or so of these bags to start." seeing some questioning looks, she elaborates "They contain firestone. This lesson will be a harder one for me to teach, as Kyrath here cannot eat firestone. As you know, it is what causes greens to be sterile, and I don't want to risk it. Besides, what little we know from the Old Ones seems to indicate that golds cannot process the firestone properly. I also want to let you know that during these training sessions, I will be looking for someone to take over as Weyrlingmaster. Hopefully, by the end I will have found some suitable candidates." seeing everyone has gotten what they need, Raja nods to Kyrath to continue. She needs a chance to rest her throat...

'The riders will need to feed the fledgelings the firestone. Just a little bit at first, mind you, but don't skimp. There should be just enough to comfortably fit in the mouth.' the gold dragon pauses before continuing 'Now, fledgelings, you will need to chew the stone with your back teeth. Grind it as well as you can before swallowing...yes, that's it. Wait a moment...don't force it...If you feel the need to belch, point your head away from everyone first, then let go. Don't be discouraged if you don't get it the first time- remember, not all dragons are made the same. You'll get it, with practice.'

While the gold dragon instructs, Raja wanders through the group, giving pointers where she can. "S'har? Don't worry about the flying thing...you'll get it soon. Your technique is probably the best of everyone, so don't rush it."

"T'gre? Excellent idea. That was good thinking." Raja fondly pats the short-tailed brown before moving on.

"You're doing well, Jeskann. Kyrath says you and Herath are doing her proud. You can keep practicing flying while they chew firestone, or you can take a break. It's up to you."

She shakes her head as she passes by Z'var, hiding a smile and trying to look stern. "No more stunts like that, you hear? I don't care how good you are...a dragon's life is too precious. I'm being leniant- next time, you'll join Serenity on numbweed duty." she lowers her voice "And you'll want to tell Branth to tuck his wings in a bit more...there's less resistance to the wind, so you can dive faster." she winks once, quickly, then moves on.

When the petite woman comes upon Sirrala, she smiles welcomingly and holds out a sun-darkened hand. "Hello, Sirrala. Come to join us? Make yourself at home. Our crews are working hard to get your weyr finished before the snows come up there. Until then...well, I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do."
