Subject: 1999 Ford F150 with 5.4L will not crank

I have a 1999 Ford F150 with the 5.4L v8 engine. It will not crank (starter will not turn over) nor will the radio work. The power windows, power locks, and headlights work fine.

I installed a new battery and it still will not crank (motor will not turn over). I have been told that the computer could have "lost its memory". I checked for loose wires, there were none. The truck is well maintained and although it has about 103k miles on it, it looks like new.

What should I do? Is my only choice to take it back to the dealer?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Ray P
