I don't know about the warranty, But just for the tranny itself. The fluid in an auto is rediculously important. It's not like a manual where the fluid is just for lubrication. It is also a friction adder to give the bands a grip. And the behavior of the tranny is dependent upon the fluid pressure. If the level is low or high the tranny will shift wrong and the torque converter can act irradically. You need to keep an extremely close eye on fluid level with an auto. That's probably why it failed the first time.
