Your car comes factory with a one season electronic choke...Yes only in the winter that they tend to go and act up..U need to replace it with a aftermarket and it will not stall out....The gas tanks on the years 86-89 had a recall a few years ago b/c they rot out. I had to learn the hard way too with my 89 i use to have.. the tank rotted out in the middle where it looks like 2 halfs.. But i had it replaced and didnt have any problems.. If u can not get a Electronic Choke right away just use a half of a pencel and stick it in the butterfly on the carb closest to the window..make sure its in properly and that the butterfly is open and it will hold u for awhile untill u can replace it...
