Pretty good, yourself? Got quite a bit done today, but there's always more....;-.) -- Lijdrec - Captain of Bowmen, 19:29:38 08/08/02 Thu [1]
The strip? Did you go to UNLV?
Course Fridays were always the party day in Grad School, certainly was more logical, but also wilder. We always started out with a volley-ball game and a couple of kegs followed by pool party at a prof's house with another's special 'brownies' for dessert.

LOL! -- natas, 19:38:19 08/08/02 Thu [1]
Havn't had a "special brownie" in so long. LOL! *sigh*
So, you got a lot done on the fence? How much more is left?
Naw, didn't go to UNLV, went to OSU. the strip was a block of bars that I frequented often.
It sounds like grad school was a blast.

Oh! Stillwater....you're an Aggie too! -- Lijdrec....;-), 19:49:12 08/08/02 Thu [1]
My grad school days were at Texas A&M, and yeah they were a blast. Not sure if other departments on campus were as close and as wild as our Geology Department. Actually, it such behavior finally got two professors on probation and one left, but that was long after I was gone....
Nah, never get done on the fence row. You finish up one section one year, the next the next, and so forth and so on..... Nature is constantly trying to reclaim everything on our farms.....

Go Big Twelve! -- natas, 19:56:59 08/08/02 Thu [1]
That's interesting Lijdrec; didn't know. Wow, another Aggie. and it's getting closer to football season. should be a good year for the Big Twelve.
always hated repairing fence, especially in the heat. the beer drink afterwards though was always pretty fun.

Uh, to be honest, there's no fence in our fence rows.!.! -- Lijdrec....;-), 20:08:47 08/08/02 Thu [1]
Just overgrown from years of neglect by the previous owners, who owned my mother's farm from 1804-1969 when dad bought it. The fence-rows are more like the hedgerows of Normandy, only without the hedge and with larger trees that we occasionally harvest for timber. Then there are all the other smaller trees and brambles and briars that come up on the edges and that's what has to be taken out. Do the same thing around the field edges that border the woods....
GO AGGIES.!.!.!.!

Lemonade? -- Seril, 19:46:30 08/08/02 Thu [1]

Ass-Kicking Lemonade? I'm sure you could Seril.!.!.! -- Lijdrec....;-), 19:51:58 08/08/02 Thu [1]
.....and what pray-tell would be the secret ingredient?

Secret -- Seril, 00:06:50 08/09/02 Fri [1]
The secret? Well, the fact that it is 80% vodka and 20% lemonade mix (you need that much to drown out the vokda) makes it have quite a punch. Esp. when you have a whole glass of it. Make sure you get enough powder in it. It's also better a little cold. Man, doesn't take much to plaster even the heaviest of drinkers (I know, I've given it to some people who have a high tolerance, it put them down fairly quickly.)

I'll definitely drink to that! -- Glory, 00:25:12 08/09/02 Fri [1]
I like my job but it definitely is a pain in the ass sometimes. It's either deadly slow as I wait for things to come in or pages to come back, or it's crazy frantic. Not a lot of in between. Today was very hectic, had two minor emergencies happen, so I'm already behind for tomorrow.
Let's see, what'll I have? Since the adage says "liquor before beer, never fear; beer before liquor, never sicker," I think I'm going to muix up a vodka martini for myself. Then I'll try some of that beer later! :)
