Mr. Smith:

I'm new here and *deeply* appreciate Dirk's generosity and hard work to share this musical treasure with us.
Please consider that Dirk *must* know that pick up measures do not normally (except for some contemporary pieces) use a different time signature, and I am willing to bet that it is a limitation of his software. You are free to criticize, but may I suggest that instead of telling him he's doing it wrong, you might ask why he did it the way he did?

To attest to his musical knowledge, I accidentally copied the Gigue from De Visee's "Suite in D Minor" from Dirk and from another site. I compared the two, and noticed that in Dirk's version, the second voice enters using tonal imitation on the tonic (the first voice enters at the dominant), preserving the polyphonic character of the piece. The other version had other notes added ad hoc, to thicken the piece.

Secondly, while I do not use tablature myself, many people do, and Dirk is offering everyone something. And he's offering it for *free*. Please enjoy it!

Sincerely,

Mike Loutris
