Subject: On Sadaam's sentence

An interesting sidelight--Doebbler said that the verdict was to have been read on Oct 17, but that US authorities had it delayed until one day before elections. I guess Bush hoped that it would give his yes-men a little more punch at the polls.
When the sentence was announced I was unsurprised it was so close to the election, Charlene. I said so to my husband. When a coincidence appears overly coincidental it becomes suspect.

P.S. I am not in favor of the punishment, by hanging. Sadaam's inhumanity toward others is legend. Repeating it in another way, for him, makes it no less horrific.
