There's no doubt that America's appetite for cheap labor, fuels the crisis at the southern border. A lot of employers aren't paying under the table, though. They just turn a blind eye to suspect Social Security cards, etc. Republicans get big bucks from such employers in the form of campaign contributions, so they have little desire to control the borders. Democrats don't care about controlling the border either, because proof of citizenship is not required to register to vote. So there you have it. The hunger (and sometimes need) for cheap labor and the rabid desire for voting bloc power, fuels a large part of the crisis.

This is a tough issue for me. You really can't blame people for crossing the border in search of a better life. I have a lot of respect for anyone who is willing to work. And I do think that illegal aliens for the most part are hard workers. For goodness sakes, I have seen them out trimming trees away from the power lines (working for a subcontractor hired by the power company), around here until way after dark. They were out there running chain saws at ten or eleven at night. Talk about enthusiasm! One neighbor had to call the police on them so he could go to sleep. lol

It is unfair to play the race card with this issue, in typical Liberal knee-jerk fashion, with Chuck or almost anyone else opposed to illegal immigration. Nativism, no. way. I'm sure she is just for the rule of law being followed, as everyone should be. Haven't you seen the posts made by Dennis on the Fringe about how illegals are wrecking havoc on the health care industry in California? Is Dennis racist? Haven't you kept abreast of things in your neck of the woods?

There is upwards of 12 million illegal aliens in this country already. When is enough enough? Should we absorb the entire population of Mexico, just because Mexico is a corrupt hell hole with no middle class? Should we keep allowing Mexico ... (oh btw: it is the ruling elite in Mexico who are racist and have a caste system) ... to vent societal pressure northwards, so they don't have to face reality and make significant changes that would benefit ALL their people and relieve the situation?

I don't necessarily think you are one of the knee jerk Liberals I referred to above. I admire your caring and support for underdogs wherever they may be found. It's just that enough is enough...

That's all for now... Gotta run... :)

Joe
