part of me wants the feds to be %100 out of it and leave it to the states.
Another part of me beleaves that the unborn child is a person with Constitutional rights that can not be taken from them without due process of law.
I think that the protection of the lives of its citizens is the one area that the feds should be involved in.
However I personaly do not trust the federal government to be smart enough to be involved in such areas as the mother's life is in jepordy or that she is a vitum of rape or incest.
I can see where coruption could very likely seep into the whole process.

I personaly would vote for a law prohibiting abortion unless the mothers life is in danger, or she was a vitum of rape or incest. I beleave in those cases being extream cases it should be up to her.
I beleave that the church has issued a statement on the issure of abortion many years ago.
I beleave they said the ONLY situations would be the life of the mother, or if the mother was the vitum of those horrible crimes of rape or incest...or if the baby is so badly inpaired there is no way that he/she will survive even mins past birth(I would not have an abortion in this case however since a Prophet of God has stated this as one of a very very few reasons an abortion should even be considered I have to recognize that I dont know everything and that there be a need for this...in other words who am I to question an offical statement from the voice of the prophet).

That is a very few reasons. Life or death situations(rare in our times of vast medical advancements)
Rape or incest(a very violent crime...the woman is the vitum). Baby so badly impaired as to make it inpossible for it to live outside of its mother(once again very very rare).

Having said all that I personaly beleave that even in these cases much prayer is needed.

Do I want the feds involved? Not really. I would rather it be a state issue.
But we do have the protection of the Constitution to have our lives protected...IMHO thats means the little babies not yet born but still alive.

I dont think we will ever fix this problem.
I think it will be a problem until the return of our Savior.
