Subject: I have mixed feelings . . .

Since I don't believe that the USPS is a constitutional function of government, anyway, it's hard for me to get as emotional about it as you do. Not that I don't care about the livelihood of your friend. I just think that he would be better off in another job, anyway. It might be a mixed blessing. What I don't get is the way the pendulum has swung so outrageously far in the other direction. But nothing much surprises me anymore when it has to do with our government. Honesty and integrity are secondary. Geez, look at Karl Rove and Dick Cheney, both who should be in prison for treason and Bush who should be with them as an accomplice (sorry, didn't mean to get off the subject), but the point being, with dishonest people at the top, why should anyone be surprised at the lack of integrity that trickles down through the ranks?

The guy should have been disciplined for what he did. Losing his job? I dunno . . . sounds like the woman was just as guilty and should be disciplined also. Perhaps she's the gold digger type who does this kind of thing in order to collect on sexual harassment charges.

Were this a private business, I wouldn't have had a problem with it. I've always held that owners of companies ought to be able to hire and fire for whatever reason they want, unfettered by government shackles.
