You say the church is wrong to want to amend the Constitution to protect marraige, but then appeal to church authority saying the church doesn't call abortion murder so you don't think it's murder. Hmmmm....
In any case, Pres. Kimball denounced abortion many times, saying "There is such a close relationship between the taking of a life and the taking of an embryonic child, between murder and abortion, that we would hope that mortal men would not presume to take the frightening responsibility. . . " (The Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball p. 188)
Pres. Benson called abortion a "damnable practice." (Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson pg 539)
Boyd K. Packer said "In or out of marriage, abortion is not an individual choice. At a minimum, three lives are involved." (October 1990 Conference)
Now even though church leaders hesitate to name it, I call it murder. If there is another life at stake as Elder Packer said, a human life as Pres. Kimball said, and it is purposefully extinguished, I call that murder. No abortion is accidental, like a car accident is. Every abortion has one intent--to destroy a human life.
