Should a global Church in effect take sides? On the other hand, one can reason that members -- including virtually all the GA:s and 1:st presidency -- as US citizens can take the side of the US. For non-US citizens it must then be self-evident to have other allegiances, i.e. to not agree with the allegiances of the GA:s, but to think independently and not be loyal in absurdum.
The global game is now really a power game between the US Empire and the growing Chinese Empire, that this year have increased it's investments with about $50 billion dollars in South-America. The US is so dug down in the Near-East that it is unlikely that the US will respond with military violence. The other well used US strategy, to assassinate uncooperative presidents may not work either -- how will China respond if it invests $50 billion dollars and then the CIA/US assassinates the president and overthrows the government? Will they take that or will this provoke war between China and the US? Will the US take any chances on this while digged down in Irak/Iran(soon), North Korea, etc?
And what happens if the draft is used and new war fronts are opened? US economy will then REALLY dive. The Bushies have already made a mess of it, but what would all out war do? Also, lots of US citizens are opposed to official policies. Will there be a new American revolution? Will the US disintegrate into smaller states?
