Guys, I need help. You don't have to respond unless you CAN help. I need to borrow a tape recorder with a mic jack so I can connect and phone mic and tape Kim's rantings and ravings. My lawyer and my therapist both recommend I do. My old one is unreliable and I only need it for a few months. If you have one and not using it, please send to me. Again, it needs to have a mic jack.
My attorney just fired off a letter to her attorney about her behavior and slanderous attempts, when she gets a copy she'll be ready to fire off some nasty remarks to me. I want to be prepared.

Jeff, I'm afraid I don't have that kind of recorder around any more, but I have an idea. Go to RadioShack and pick up their $39.99 shoebox recorder (the kind that uses full-size cassettes -- not microcassettes -- and comes with the AC cord so you won't have to shell out for batteries) and their $24.99 telephone recorder switch. Don't waste your time with the $2.99 magnetic pickups -- they are useless. Plug the telephone recorder switch into the recorder (it plugs into the MIC and REM jacks) and the recorder starts and stops automatically every time you pick up the phone (that way you won't forget and miss that one call, and there is no tell-tale clicking sound on the line). Also pick up a 3-pack of low-noise normal bias tapes (about $2.99) and keep all of the packaging, manuals, cords, and the receipt. Use it for 29 days and return everything but the tapes to RadioShack for a refund. Then pick up another setup on your way home and do it again. I had literally dozens of people do this to me when I worked at RS, and it pissed me off but there was nothing I could do about it. Just keep everything in pristine condition and re-pack it all nice and neat and bring it back in the original bag. Don't tell the salesman why you are buying it or he will be expecting you to return it. Just get his name, and call ahead before you return it to see if he's in. If he's not, no other salesman will give a damn and they will write you a cheerful refund, no questions asked.

Thanks Ken I appreciate the info. If I had the money, I'd do so;that is why I was asking to borrow. I just don't have it not when I'm paying 20.00 an hr to see my kids for 3 hrs each Sunday. If another man can loan me the recorder, then maybe I afford the special mic you suggested.
