Subject: I have a request

I would appreciate it if I were not mentioned in banners for a while, or ever again.
I believe my irritation started with the fading out banner. Upon coming to this
new board, seeing that banner didn't make me feel welcome. Obviously, the intent
was supposed to be funny, it probably was for the rest of you, but I wasn't amused
by it after seeing it more than a few times. Yes, I know, those were effectively my
words, but throwing them back at me in graphic form is not the kindest thing to do.
I'll state my desire again, "I'd rather not be mocked in the majority of the banners."
Even the one up now that features Jeff, still asks Is this funny, Curt?"
How about we knock it off?

In regards to my issues with Ken's action, I have some. They are not issues of pent up anger, I just don't put up with being treated shabbily these days -- by anyone.
I am defensive against what I perceive as the stirrings of hazing or so-called
friendly jibes. I don't welcome them from friends, and I especially don't welcome
them from those whose relationship with me is already strained (for whatever reason).
I guess in Jeff's terms, I see a certain kind of asshole standing behind Ken. I've had
to deal with those kinds of assholes all my life, and I try to nip their snide derision
in the bud right away. I'm sorry Ken if you were the trigger for those defensive feelings.
It seems pretty clear that Ken's action were absent of malice, and his banners simply
pushed my buttons.

Curt,

Please hold off and wait til after we are finished with Ken. It takes the focus and energy away from Ken's work. I am sure you would appreciate to have everyone being attentive while you share on your struggles.

I appreciate you taking the initiative and sharing what is bothering you. THANK YOU Curt. I can only imagine the desire to get this out of your system and be done with this or having the urge to get it 'on the table'.

I am also glad to see how quickly you see an issue past Ken and how he was the trigger to something you are angry about....please hold on as best you can.

I want to be able to focus on your clearing and your struggles as much as I am focusing on Ken's. I love you enough to NOT get two clearings going in order for effeciency.
Ok?

I don't accept your admonition, Jeff. I though we we're done.
The fact that this clearing process was still ongoing was not clear.
Let's continue with this thing. Whose turn is it, Jeff?

Curt, I suggest you refer to the outline that Ken and I sent out and demonstrated. Your message reflected very well the next step, unfortunately its Ken's clearing. He needs to see behind you, he needs to ask for what he needs and he needs to hear from you what you can do.
Then when its over, he needs to feel 'complete' that he has finished the process for him.
Then if you feel strongly enough you can go through the process for yourself or choose not to.

I understand the process, Jeff, but like I wrote, I thought the
clearing had petered out since no postings were made. It's
a shame that this board is effectively offline whenever a
clearing takes place, but I'll wait until it's over to post again.

Now stop it! I'm trying not to having fellow programmers see me crying here at work. :)
