I just rescued a 3yr old female CCHL from neighbors down the street. I live in the Nevada desert about 100 miles north of Las Vegas. She was living outside in the dirt with doggie poo half way up the side of the pen on one side of her pen that was 4'x4' there were 6 dogs of several diferent small breeds. Conditions were deplorable. I have called the Animal control they should be there today. But anyway back to my new friend whom I have prompty rename "Princess" cause I know she thinks she is now a Princess. She was filthy & stunk to high heaven, her skin was extremly dry cracked and flakey. I gave her a bath using puppy shampoo and put some gold bond lotion on her. she is softening up and her skin is a bit better today. ( I brought her home 4 days ago.). But her problem is that her neck is becoming so broke out in acne that her little neck is getting sore and weepy. What should I do to help her? And she is also cold now as we keep her inside with us. She was born at that place so she has been out in those conditions for 3 years in the heat in the summer and the nasty blowin cold in the winter. They had one small dog house in their pen. Surprisingly she did have vet papers that she has had her shots and is current. Also what is an excellent dog food for her?
