I was trying to find out about BTS Formidable as I have found a picture of my late father in a naval uniform and the hat has B.T.S. Formidable on it. I knew that he was at school in Portishead when he was a boy. He took me there once when I was quite young.
All I remember is that he became a boy Petty Officer and qualified to join the Royal Navy but his mother was not keen for him to join HMS Ganges, and he went to work in London.He was born in 1918 and he was there until he was 14 I believe. He was William Ronald FORBES.
I would be grateful for any informaion that you can share with me.
