My Favorite Gay "Adult" Movies - Part One -- TheEggman, 09:23:36 06/11/02 Tue
Until "American In Prague" was released by BelAmi, I didn't believe there was such a thing as 'good porn', never mind good gay porn. Also from the BelAmi catalog, you might want to check out "Candy Boys" and "Flings".

Now lets talk about bad gay porn (I mean so horribly bad that they couldn't get a dead man stiff!). Stephen and I have rented some flicks that are just sad. Some are poorly lit, ranging from way too dark to way too bright in the same scene. I especially love the sound overdubs, obviously recorded on miniature cassette players. The scratchy sound quality is only exceeded by the horrible dialogue!

Not that anyone watches porn for it's intelligent dialogue but, my goodness! At least in most BelAmi flicks they don't even bother with dialogue, concentrating instead on a believable sex scene. Some of them are extremely well done, leaving the viewer to believe that he just watched a long term monogomous couple. Check the "Chris & Jeff" scene in "Flings" for an example. Whew! Makes me all sweaty just thinkin' about it!

In the near future, I'll review more gay adult films. These three: "American In Prague", "Candy Boys" and "Flings" are worthy of your hard earned dollars.

Well without a doubt that video tape I got with JJ and Lance on the beach! The movie companys REFUSE to air it because it's that naughty, so instead of throwing it away and it being x-mas and all Lance (god bless him) gave it to me!

The first gay or near-gay movie that I remember was called "IF" and was a sensitive film about 3 boys in an english school. The gay part was not the major plot line , but rather a substantial sub-plot and ,I thought, well and sensitively handled. I do remember discussing the film in 12th grade english class and all the guys (including me) being too embarassed to discuss it. I'd happily watch the film again. I think it was an excellent take, gay or not.

I haven't seen that many "gay" movies, and I haven't seen any XXX ones, but I've seen a couple of the non-xxx movies that you have mentioned. I hope to see some suggestions on here about what's good, so I will know what to rent in the future.

If I might make a suggestion. If everyone talked about the movies a little more in depth, instead of "I liked it" I think this would be a very entertaining and informational board.

For instance, I remember Lance and I talking on IM once about a scene in Edge of Seventeen that had just totally seduced him, and it made me rush right out and rent the video that same day just to see what scene he was talking about!! I wanted to see what had him so infatuated! I think he was just so totally surprised by his reaction. Because, he said it was so strong and unexpected...kind of like a kick in the gut only pleasurable and sexy...(my God I am explaining this so bad!! LOL!) But here is Mister Self-Confidence and he was being so shy and uncertain and almost embarrassed because he fell in love with the way someone looked in a film! How sweet is that! ::sigh:: He's such a closet romantic! LOL!

I think that maybe we all learn a little bit more about ourselves when something like that happens and we find ourself responding to scenes. But what do I know! LOLOLOLOL!

So maybe if more people describe a scene or an emotion or how someone looked or how something made you feel, then it will be so much more interesting. And whether a person has seen the film or not, it will certainly make them curious about it enough to rent it.

BTW, the scene Lance was so infatuated with...you remember when Eric drives down to college to find Rod, they go inside the dorm room. And they are sitting on the floor. The scene Lance fell in love with was the look on Eric's face, when he looks up at Rod all vulnerable, through tear streaked, smudged eye liner and says, "Then why don't you kiss me." awwwwwwwwww

::sigh:: I have to agree with him, that scene just makes me melt.

I have had nightmares for years from Friday The 13th, to my defence I should tell I was 16 or so when it came out and it was my very first 'horror' ever. Last week I watched it with my 12 year old daughter, who's addicted to horror. All the time I was watching it I thought OMG this is a HORRIBLY BAD movie!! Hehe So I put an other nightmare behind me.

As for the naughty movies, I like bits and parts of candy boys, and also of teamplay. Kevin and michael from bedfellow is also one of my favourits. Over the years I've traded naught movies with a lot of people (hehe funny most of the people I trade with are guys) I think I owe someone a movie tho.

As far as other favourits of mine go I'm an 80's fan I am in love with movies like 'dead poets society' 'St Elmo's fire' 'breakfast club'.

I dunno much about movies tho and I always forget details, so discussing movies isn't really my thing, but I do like to talk about them cause it's funny how one person gets one thing from a movie and the next something totally different

The Broken Hearts Club is awesome. I also lost Showtime so I can't see QAF anymore :( I have also seen Get Real, very very very good. Come Undone is pretty good as well and is worth checking out.

So is "Beautifull Thing", although the English accents can get a bit thick in it. "Edge of Seventeen" is also good, and I really like "Defying Gravity".
