Rationality gets as butchered as "God told me to" does. Rationality can be just as much of a lie as religion. Marx and Hitler used rationality in the same way that Catholicism and Islam have used and do use God.

Atheists praise rationality as if it were actually a virtue when in fact it is just an approach that has as many problems as belief. Rationality is an ideology used by some atheists as the basis to dismiss religion. Yet religion is rational, for it is rational to believe in God for many sound reasons.

Truly religious people -- and not insane fundamentalists -- also, "study philosophy, ethics, morality, hoping to cobble together a moral code," based on devotion to God.

The Religious Right has risen to power based on the anger religious people have over being ignored, ridiculed, or derided by atheists who glibly dismiss spirituality.

God, however, is more than any one religion claims. The proposition that only one religion can be true is a fool's game for idiots. God is bigger than any finite human religion.

The central claim of atheism -- that God does not exist -- simply cannot be proven by any possible means. I can understand rejecting all conventional religions because they do not deliver on what they promise. Indeed, Islam, Judaism, and Christianiy make world peace impossible and are presently heading humanity into big wars and killing.

Conventional religion has nothing whatsoever to do with God as far as I can tell. It is all a lust for power and control and violence.
