I hope you've gotten the mixdown CD by now; if not, I'll have to go postal on the post office.

On the technical side, the distinct Percy voice is part live vocal manipulation and part studio effect. I sang soft falsetto (inspired by Michael Stipe's use of it on
the version of "Gardening At Night" found on CHRONIC TOWN), then pitch-shifted it down a bit, so that it comes off a little deeper. The voice is still highish, but the shift gives it this weird not-quite-all-there-in-the-head vibe. You called that quality "asylum," IIRC.
