Cassidy did some circles and figure eights on Montana, jogging and loping. The colt finally settled down once he realized she meant to stay on. Cassidy shoved her heels down and sat deep and relaxed, one hand on the saddle and the other holding the reins loosely but firmly. "This isn't so bad," she admitted with a smile. Jon shortened the reins and Pride stopped. "Yah, well, can you help ME out now?" Cassidy giggled and halted Montana. "Ok, hehehe, um..." she giggled again. "I don't know where to sta-" "Oh Cassidy c'mon!" Jon exclaimed. Cassidy burst out laughing until tears rolled down her eyes. Then she instructed Jon. "Heels down. Back straight. Hands high, shoulders back..." Jon fixed his position, struggling to hold it. Pride responded instantly, surging into a light, fancy trot as he felt his rider lighten and ride better. "Cool!" Jon exclaimed as Pride cantered a circle elegantly. They talked and rode some more, then Jon looked at the sun, which was setting. "We'd better ride back," he said. "I actually had a lot of fun...but I'm always gonna be-" "A coyboy?" Cassidy guessed. "Yeah, I like saddleseat better than western." She paused and he grinned. "Wanna switch?" "YES!" She dismounted and kissed Montana on the nose, then took Pride's reins and mounted. Jon swung onto the roan's back and they rode back to the barn.
