******It was the first day of lessons for Annie and she was so excited. We went to the Pony Market and picked up the two ponies Alana bought for her two daughters. The ponies were brought to the Kentucky Dream Stables and were put in clean stalls. Alana went to her tack trunk and brought out two new beautiful halters that were light blue and had the ponies names on them. Annie smiled with joy and put the halter on Fleatwood. Then she took the matching light blue lead rope and lead Fleatwood to the cross ties. She started to groom her pony with great care. Alana had to clean Fleatwoods hooves because Annie couldn't hold them up. LOL! Then Annie ran to the Tack Room and got her tack. She tacked up Fleatwood and mounted her. She spoke softly to the pony to get use to each other. Then Alana took the reins and lead girl and horse to an empty paddock. Alana asked her daughter to walk in a circle. Alana showed Annie how to hold her hands and how to make her pony stop, go, turn, and go backwards. Fleatwood was a doll the whole time! Then I decided that was enough for one day. Alana helped Annie dismount and then she took the reins. She lead Fleatwood to the cross ties and they untacked him. Alana laughed as she saw Annie struggling with the saddle. Annie started to fall and Alana caught her. She took the saddle and put it away while Annie put the bridle away with great care. She brought out the grooming box and started to groom her pony. Then a loud noise was heard and Alana was terrified Fleatwood would spook and Annie would get hurt. The calm pony just twitched his ears and looked toward the sound. Alana was so happy that she started to breathe again and gave Annie a big hug. Annie put Fleatwood in her stall for the night and kissed her on her big nose. Fleatwood nuzzled Annie's shoulder in response. Alana knew that this was the perfect horse for her daughter!
