*He helps Jon groom and tack up the mare, Missy, then walks with them to the manicured ring with 3 barrels set up in a cloverleaf pattern. "Warm her up, i'm going to get the timer working" he tells Jon "sure" Jon replies and Mikki heads over to the timer line and makes sure the timer is working right. "Are you ready" he asks "Yeah, we'll trot them once, then canter once and then i'll let her all the way out" Jon tells Mikki. "sounds good. Whenever you're ready start" Mikki replies. Jon moves the mare into a trot and heads up to the barrels, trots the cloverleaf pattern, then heads back, allowing the mare to canter. he circles her to bring her down to a walk, then makes a few more circles so the mare can catch her breath. then he heads up to the barrels at a canter, concentrating carefully. he sweeps around the barrels easily and canter back. "Great!!!" Mikki exclaims "let her walk a minute" He says. after the mare's breathing is normal again they do the barrels at a gallop several times and Mikki times their runs. each time was better than the last (i forget what "good" times are now, i haven't done barrels in awhile) "Ok, thats good for today" Mikki says finally. they walk the mare out and load her into the trailer so Saddle can ship her home*
